How many times did you have to wait at a traffic light🚦 today? 🤔

Before modern electric traffic lights we have come to love and hate, manually operated models controlled traffic flows: This “Traffic Signal” patented by Garret A. Morgan in 1923 had a lever that an operator would turn to move its arms up and down, and switch either of the “STOP” or “GO” signs on.

Morgan didn’t stop there – he’s also considered the first person to invent a traffic light with three lights, adding yellow.
